You know how it is on a bright, sunny day, with big puffy clouds? Then, all of the sudden, a cloud passes between the ground and the sun - and there's a noticeable shadow?
While standing outside, the other day, this happened; and it made me think about Domestic Violence. Many times it's NOT a constant darkness; but a noticeable shadow over your life.
That's what is so off-putting and confusing for the Victims. A rage happens, and it's over, for awhile; and they think, "Maybe they just had to get it out of their system. They really love me, and everything will be ok, now."
Then, another shadow, or full on storm comes, and the Victim feels shame for "Being so stupid thinking that was it."; and they feel they deserve what they get, as a result.
Head games are real, people; and the only change that can happen is what the Victim works toward. All support people can do, is encourage them to make these changes - the "shadow" isn't going to just go away.
Thank you, and have a good day, and be safe... #oneinfour #ithappenstomentoo #dviseverywhere #domesticviolence
*October is Domestic Violence Awareness Month. Please share this post, no matter what month it is, to help get the word out. The Victim has to make the choice - but, "What If..." they read something you sent them, and it just "clicks"?
*I would love the opportunity to share YOUR ideas in a Blog post. Please send them to Connie J... - beamererin@yahoo.com; or through Ozer email, ozerministries@att.net.
