I used to think "life just happened", and I had no control, or options on how my life went.
Well, "life DOES happen"; but my options lie in my responses to those "happenings".
True story - I'm working, going about my day. Someone basically "jumps" me about a particular part of what I had assumed was a part of my job, and informed me it was not.
Kind of angered me, at first. But I was able to quickly process that, and while I may not necessarily like the WAY it happened; the outcome has brought me so much more freedom, and less tension than I've had FOR YEARS!!!
You see what I did there??! I used my option to not attack that other person, or be bitter about that negative situation - turned it into a positive outcome.
That other person doesn't really care how I feel, and that's ok; because our personal feelings regarding each other don't really matter in the workplace. It's all about getting the job done; and I'm not going to care more about the company I work for, than the company, itself, appears to - regardless of how I may feel about some of their practices.
Now, in a Domestic Violence situation, this can be a little trickier to navigate. It's all up-close and personal. However, I believe that same principle applies. You cannot care more about your relationship, than the other person - amiright??!
This is one of the greatest tidbits of wisdom I learned from my Counselor. I utilize it pretty much every day of my life. It's such a versatile statement - you cannot care more about ANYTHING than the one with which you're seeking to connect.
I encourage you to go forth and apply this principle to your daily life - as YOU utilize ALL YOUR options...
Thank you, and have a good day, and be safe... #ENDtheSILENCEofVIOLENCE #dviseverywhere #domesticviolence #growin2024 #awareness #protectyourself #besafe #utilize #youroptions
*October is Domestic Violence Awareness Month. Please share this post, no matter what month it is, to help get the word out. The Victim has to make the choice - but, "What If..." they read something you sent them, and it just "clicks"?
*I would love the opportunity to share YOUR ideas in a Blog post. Please send them to Connie J... - beamererin@yahoo.com; or through Ozer email, ozerministries@att.net.
