My Why... (Connie J...)

Have you ever sat and wondered why you do something that just seems to be a part of your very being?

I sort of eased into being a Domestic Violence advocate. As I have stated before, I used to adamantly declare I grew up in a "Norman Rockwell photo-type" family. Yeah, not-so-much...

I spoke to someone I grew up with, recently, and they had NO idea about my family of origin - and our families attended the same church, and were involved in similar social circles. If their parents knew, nobody knows.

That was just the way it's been for so many years - "what happened in your home, stayed in your home"...I mean, I've also stated that it's been around since the beginning of time. Am relatively sure Adam wasn't too excited about Eve's "little faux paux", right??!

My childhood Best Friend's family let me be at their house ANY time I wanted; but she was rarely allowed to be at my house. Our Father's knew each other - actually introduced us, in Kindergarten. They knew, am sure of it; and I am forever grateful, btw.

I want people to be aware of what's going on, right before their very eyes, and for them to change their lives, if they so choose. That is a part of my "Why", which is my commitment to do what I can. That's all any of us can do, really. Correct?

Have a good day and be safe... #ENDtheSILENCEofVIOLENCE #EtSoV #walkinTHEIRshoes

*October is Domestic Violence Awareness Month. Please share this, no matter what month it is, to help get the word out. The Victim has to make the choice - but, "What If..." they read something you sent them, that makes the difference? #walkinTHEIRshoes

*I will be sharing a "What If..." post on the first Monday, of every month. I would love to share YOUR "what ifs". Please send your "What If..." ideas to Connie J... -; or through Ozer, at the website or email,
