Thanksgiving??! (Connie J...)

This week is Thanksgiving...but for many, it's not a "thankful" time - the Holiday Season.

This time of year usually escalates any Domestic Violence situations; leaving the Victims (all involved in the immediate vicinity) reeling.

With children just being children, and pets just being pets - they become moving targets for the perpetrators. The Victim-parent is trying to balance on such a thin thread, that toppling is usually quick, and inevitable.

Choices are made - and all involved are the ones that suffer - whether continuing the relationship, or not. Support is the only real recourse, as the Victim is the only one that can change their situation.

This year, situations are exacerbated by the Pandemic - so whether you gather with extended family, or not, I encourage you to keep your eyes open, in any situation. You CAN make a difference, just by raising the question with someone you suspect is a Victim. Remember to do it safely - even if it's just with a look.

We CAN make a difference - by definition, the possibilities are are endless. Do what you can...

We wish you a safe, and Happy Thanksgiving - whatever your situation. Remember to look for the things to be thankful for.

*October is Domestic Violence Awareness Month. Please share this, no matter what month it is, to help get the word out. The Victim has to make the choice - but, "What If..." they read something you sent them, that makes the difference? #walkinTHEIRshoes

*I will be sharing a "What If..." post on the first Monday, of every month. I would love to share YOUR "what ifs". Please send your "What If..." ideas to Connie J... -; or through Ozer, at the website or email,
