Some days, I wish I could wear a warning label that says, "Do NOT Touch!!!" Even a mindless brush across my back, can send me off. I have made such progress over the years; but some days wonder if it will ever completely go away.
have things that just "set you off"? They lay dormant, then "BAM" you're triggered, and feel completely caught off guard, and maybe a little nuts!!! Keep in mind, you're NOT nuts, you've only been triggered.
How do you feel when you get triggered?
What do you do to calm yourself? I have a tendency to get angry - first, at the one that triggered me; then, with myself for getting triggered. I DO tend to cycle through it pretty fast, most of the time; but SOME days...
I ask my Counselor if
it will always be this way - unfortunately, there is no real answer to that question.
However, it isn't what is done or said to you, in life, it's how you respond to it. That is the ONLY thing we DO have any REAL control over.
