Generally speaking, our culture has gotten very narrow-minded. Mocking, and putting down what we don't even try to understand, has become the unfortunate normal.
Grown adults often make jokes about rape, mental health issues, etc,
mainly because they have: A - not personally experienced it, or B - not been personally involved with a victim, or C - the topics make them uncomfortable and they don't know what else to do. That is how children act regarding new
situations they come upon.
The older generations have been so enmeshed in making their children happy, they have not taught them very much about real life. Thus, we have an entire culture "running the show" with NO idea what they're doing. They're
still, even as adults, "holding their breath" til they get what they want. They don't know how to react to real life, so they shut it out until it's so overwhelming, the only way they can "deal" is with medication. I hope this changes, soon; but I think it
will only get worse, before it gets better.
How do you see the world from where you're sitting? If every person helps to make one change to the world immediately around them, how much different could the outcome be? Can you be that change? It
HAS to start somewhere...
Have a good day, and be safe... #ENDtheSILENCEofVIOLENCE #EtSoV
