The MANY Faces... (Connie J...)

Did you know Domestic Violence abuse comes with many faces? Physical Abuse is usually just the most obvious.

Emotional Abuse is more subtle. Sometimes, the abuser "jokingly" puts down the Victim in a public setting. Watch how the Victim reacts, and keep in mind, if that's how their significant other treats them in public; imagine how they treat them when they're behind closed doors.

Financial Abuse is even MORE subtle; because people don't talk about their money situations, most of the time.

Control is a huge Red Flag, and can manifest itself in many ways.
Who they see, or don't see. Their family members, or certain friends usually fall under this.
What they wear, or don't wear. Sometimes, they don't allow them to wear shoes around the house, so they cannot leave.
Even a pregnancy. Whether forcing them to get pregnant, ending a pregnancy, or making the woman keep an unwanted pregnancy.
