People often ask, when they find out I am a Domestic Violence Awareness Advocate, if I am a Victim. Well, I did grow up in a DV situation; but even if I hadn't, what difference does it make? Why should it matter? Why should I care?
Why
should YOU care? Because, even if you've never been personally involved in a Domestic Violence situation; SOMEBODY you know is, has been, or will be.
Often, when I am approached about donating to, or championing different causes, I try to do
what I can. I also want to mention, that if EVERYONE on the earth would commit to ONE cause, there would be nothing lacking; but the same small percentage of empathetic people are battling the fray.
As stated before, our goal is to #ENDtheSILENCEofVIOLENCE.
All anyone can do, is do what you can do. We're all on this Big Blue Marble, together; battling many of the same demons, simultaneously. Caring doesn't cost a dime; doing what you can, doesn't necessarily have to, either.
Can you think of any
creative ways to care? Be a sounding board for someone that's hurting? Remember, your job is NOT to give them answers, or solve their problems; just be there, supporting them.
Together, we CAN #ENDtheSILENCEofVIOLENCE . Have a good day, and be
safe... #EtSoV
