Sticks and Stones... (Connie J...)

Did you ever say that rhyme when you were a kid? It is intended to help "brush off" the mean things children can say to one another.

The truth is, words are one of the most powerful weapons, EVER!!! I mean, words CAN be an effective weapon against a gun, knife, etc; but only if the person holding said weapon is open to listening.

The "Word Power" I am referring to, today, however, are the words we say to ourselves. In a Domestic Violence, or bullying situation, these are usually the most effective tools we have against a mental abuser.

If you've ever been up against a bully, for example, anything you say can, and will be used against you. I heard the phrase, once, "You cannot win a battle of words with a fool."

So the only real defense you have against a "Word Bully" IS what you say to yourself, in response; and believing YOUR  words, not theirs.
