"Why Did/Didn't You..." (Connie J...)

This is often the way a conversation begins with a Victim of any of the following:  Domestic Violence, bullying, or sexual assault, etc.

A better way to start a conversation MAY be: "How can you/I help you, now?" The next step IS up to the Victim; but often, they feel stuck.

They may just need a nudge in the right direction. THEY have to do the work. Be supportive, and let them know you see THEM, not just their issue.

Everyone has issues; but it's the next step, that can make ALL the difference.
