#NOMORE My Brother (or Sister's) Keeper... (Connie J)

In general, people have the affliction of "NIMBYism", where Domestic Violence, or many other things are concerned.

When they hear tell of someone in their neighborhood, or a family member's situation, their FIRST reaction is, Not in MY back yard!!!"; like it's some sort of contagious disease.

I'm gonna go on a limb, and assume the Victim did NOT consciously go looking for a real "tool", just saying.

While we cannot "rescue" a Victim of Domestic Violence; there ARE things to do. Offer support; go online and look for ways to help them, and safely make recommendations. Believe them, when they trust you with their story.

While other people's situations are NOT our responsibility, nor are we their keeper; I believe there is a certain responsibility, by divine intervention, even, that we do what we can.

That is all anyone can expect. It may not solve their problem, but helping them help themselves never hurt anyone.
