#NOMORE As I See It... (Connie J)

As I've stated before, I grew up a Victim of Domestic Violence, and wasn't even aware of it...right??!

I say this, because I still have leftover "issues". I was reading an article, yesterday, on Facebook (of course), and it asked the question, "Do you love yourself?". I answered aloud, "of course". I read on, and it brought out an interesting point. If someone you're around pushes "all the right buttons", is it them with the issues, or you? (I am in NO way saying they don't have issues, also, by the way.)

Are you critical or judgmental of others? Did you grow up in, or do you live in an environment of judgment? Do you have LOW tolerance of other people just "being themselves"? I'm sort of ashamed to say, I like things to go my way - all the time, if possible. Enter reality - NOT possible. So, when things don't go my way, I tend to get very self-involved and a meltdown of sorts usually happens. Yes, I'm an adult - but, I still like things my way, and they usually are.

It's in those times they don't, I have an opportunity to reflect, and try and figure out what the heck is going on??! WHY am I so upset - it's NEVER really big things, either. I had a day, the other day, and it was just a collaboration of "stupid" incidences that caused me to have a meltdown. I have spent the last two days trying to figure out what happened. What "triggered" the meltdown?

I'm saying all this, because "As I See It...", being in a Domestic Violence situation is hard enough; and when you factor in your own issues you're trying to deal with - how MUCH harder is it to defend yourself? You probably don't even feel like you should have to, or maybe even deserve to.

Sometimes, we have to fight our own demons in the middle of an external battle. Be encouraged. You are NOT alone. YOU are worth fighting for. If you're not strong for yourself, how can you be strong for anyone else - if you have kids, or animals, or other family members?

Have a good day, and be safe...             #NOMORE   #KNOWMORE
