#NOMORE It Doesn't Start With Courageous... (Connie J)
Read this on Facebook, recently:
"Many survivors insist they're not courageous: 'If I were courageous, I would have stopped the abuse' 'If I were courageous, I wouldn't be scared'...most of us have it mixed up. You don't start with courage and
face fear. You become courageous BECAUSE you face your fear." (Laura Davis - via "Jackie&Co.")
You never know what you can really handle, until you've come through the other side and have actually handled it. Life happens, it's what you make of
it. When life gives you lemons, make lemonade.
These can either just be taken as platitudes, OR little tidbits of "life wisdom".
As I've quoted Daryl before, "Until the pain of staying the same becomes greater than the pain to change, I will
stay the same."
Fear can be paralyzing, or motivating - it's all in the choices we make. I'm not saying anyone chooses a Domestic Violence situation; but what we allow to continue, will continue. If you choose to allow it out of fear, it will, also.
The bottom line is, it may ease up, periodically; but it will not stop.
It does NOT happen overnight; but you have to choose to overcome your fear.
Now that you #KNOWMORE, are you ready to say #NOMORE and move on to courageous?
